Being a Geek --on a Budget

Odd topic--but in these trying financial times--it can work...

For those that have a Nook, Kindle or any E-reader, find free sites. I found 2 that are great:

www.gutenberg.com  found a slew of Tarzan books--you can also use their Australian counterpart, I got the whole John Carter series there, as well as Robert Howard stories.
www.arthursbookshelf.com I found an old favorite Author, Lin Carter and alot of his stuff. I think there were stuff from the hardy Boys series--might give these a whirl.

For Books, Comics and movies--I'd whole heartedly recommend your local library--if you can wait until the Trade comes out on the Comics you can enjoy them ...FOR NOTHING!!

If you know of a book coming out in the future, and I've done this, contact your library for them to order it.  I've been lucky to read Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter ( hope you see that Trailer, I did--it was great) and Ready Player One.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to contact me if you know of any other ways to be a geek and have some financial savvy!!

Radio Thoughts

Havent blogged much about the content of  my Radio Geek show--I enjoy doing it and want to enhance it--one of the folks at the station has offered to help with snippets of geeky sounds/quotes to make the show more listenable. After all who wants to hear 1 person babble for an hour--if you d,o go listen to a politician, who words flow like slime.

Some upcoming will feature:
Heavy Metal ( the Magazine) and some of my favorite artists
Retro Live Action Saturday Morning Kid Shows
Most expensive Comics, ObscureComic Heroes/Villains
Toys
Myth and Folklore characters.

Also--speaking of radio Geek--be a fan- the link is on my sites homepage

Also--Also, hope folks viewed my Week in geek video

Is Artistic Freedom a Myth?

I'm not gonna go into here, but go to my Video Blog---

Reading an interesting title: Ferals, a Werewolf title--art and story are solid--DEFINITELY NOT A KIDS COMIC--I talked with my friendly neighborhood comics shop dealer who read it and also agreed that it wasnt poly-bagged. The art doesn't pull any punches as does the subject matter, not to sound cliche, but won't go into it here.

I discovered a fun site, www.arthursbookshelf.com. Found stuff I haven't read in years( Lin Carter!) that I can get on my Nook. I''m wondering if I'm gonna get to the point where I all donate my printed books,

NNYYAAHH!!!!!!
